The Coronavirus and Your Injury Case

In one way or another, the COVID-19 outbreak has affected every industry, and the legal profession is no exception. If you’ve been injured in an accident, you might be wondering how the virus outbreak will impact your right to a legal recovery. The short answer is that your legal rights are secure, especially if you’ve retained counsel to protect your interests.

COVID-19 has temporarily shut down the courts, but you still have every right to file a claim against any party that has injured you. So if you’ve been in a car accident, for example, you can still pursue a settlement against the at-fault person’s insurer.

In fact, while the courts have more or less closed for business, the insurance companies are still functioning smoothly. Most insurance adjusters are working from home, evaluating and settling cases just as they did before the outbreak. Our office has resolved dozens of cases since the courts shut down in March.

So if you’ve been injured, don’t let the virus crisis keep you from getting the compensation you deserve. We can meet with you, either via an online meeting or a safe, in-person meeting with proper social distancing and precautions.
